Basketball season is right around the corner, and with it comes another round of Hilton Madness.

Friday night, the men’s and women’s basketball teams will hold their Hilton Madness event, giving fans the first real opportunity to get a look at this year’s teams.

The event, hosted by ‘Iowa Nice Guy’ Scott Siepker, will feature an introduction of each team, the NCAA banner ceremony, a 3-point contest, a shooting stars competition and a dunk contest.

The three point contest will feature four players from both the men’s and women’s team. Lexi Albrecht, Bryanna Fernstrom, Emily Durr and Jadda Buckley will shoot for the women, while Matt Thomas, Wes Greder, Jordan Ashton and Hallice Cooke will shoot for the men.

The shooting stars competition, which will pit two teams mixed with men’s and women’s players against each other,  will have teams make one shot from five different designated spots on the floor. Georges Niang, Maddy Baier and Bridget Carleton will make up the Cardinal team, while Nicole ‘Kidd’ Blaskowsky, Monte Morris and Stuart Nezlek will make up the Gold team. Each team also will have a surprise guest on their team.

The event is free to the public. The south, lower west and north doors at Hilton Coliseum will open at 7:30 p.m., with the event starting at 8 p.m.
