ISU volleyball head coach Christy Johnson-Lynch raved about her team’s depth with the incoming recruiting class, saying it is the deepest team she has ever coached. That was confirmed Thursday as PrepVolleyball.com named the Cyclones’ incoming class as the eighth best in the nation.

Leading the charge for the class is the duo of setter Remi Bowman and middle blocker Jamie Straube, who are tied for the highest ranked recruits in program history.

The team also brought in outside hitter Jess Schaben, the No. 27 recruit, according to PrepVolleyballl.com, and Hannah Bailey, the No. 33 recruit.

“We are really proud of, and excited about our No. 8 recruiting class,” Johnson-Lynch said in a press release. “This is an exceptional group of competitors, athletes, students and volleyball players. They have the potential to have a huge impact on our program over the next four to five years.”

The Cyclones didn’t limit recruiting in America, however, reeling in Grace Lazard out of London, England. She is the first international recruit for Johnson-Lynch, and already participated with the team in the spring season.

Volleyball will start its season on Aug. 28.
