The ISU tennis team started off strong by winning the doubles point, but struggled in singles play as the Cyclones suffered a 4-2 loss against Kansas.

The doubles point was won by the number one and two pairings, but the singles play became difficult.

Sophomore Samantha Budai and senior Meghan Cassens lost their singles matches in three straight sets, while seniors Ksenia Pronina and Caroline Andersen lost in two straight sets.

Junior Alejandra Galvis came out with another singles victory to continue her singles streak in her regular season.

This is the first loss for Iowa State when winning the doubles point at the beginning of the match.

With this loss against Kansas, the team needs to regroup against Kansas State on March 22.
