By the numbers: Cyclone Hockey drops two of three weekend games

Luke Manderfeld

Cyclone Hockey dropped two of its three games over the weekend, two of which were against conference opponent Minot State. Here are some numbers from the weekend.

84-70: The Cyclones out-shot Minot State by 14 but still couldn’t grab a win from the two-game series.

23: The amount of shots that the Cyclones allowed Nov. 9 and goalie Derek Moser stopped every one of them for his first shutout on the season.

8: The amount of one-goal games the Cyclones have lost this season. They dropped two of those over the weekend against Minot State.

1.97: Despite the two losses, primary goaltender Matt Cooper’s 32-of-34 saves [Nov. 7] lowered his averaged goals allowed to 1.97, putting him in top five for that stat in the American College Hockey Association conference.
