The ISU men’s cross country team finished third at the Midwest Regional, falling short of an invitation to the NCAA Championships for a fifth straight season.
Iowa State sat in eighth place after the first 2000-meters of the race, but moved to third through the final 8000-meters.
Freshman Dan Curtis led the Cyclones with a fifth place performance, finishing with a 30:16.4 time. Senior Martin Coolidge was the next ISU runner to cross, finishing 18th.
Sophomore Christian DeLago, freshman Toby Hardwick and senior Edward Kemboi followed with 24th, 31st and 32nd place performances, respectively.
Oklahoma State and Tulsa are the only teams advancing to the NCAA Championships from the Midwest Region.
