Operation Beautiful founder to speak at MU

Matthew Rezab

Caitlin Boyle, blogger and founder of Operation Beautiful, will be speaking at 7 p.m. Oct. 21 at the Great Hall of the Memorial Union.

Operation Beautiful was launched in 2009 and is dedicated to ending negative self-talk in girls, woman and men. The program encourages positive body image and believes everyone has unique qualities that should be valued and celebrated.

Boyle started Operation Beautiful by leaving positive messages on the mirrors of public restrooms at work, the gym and the grocery store. The messages said things like, “You are beautiful!” or “You are amazing just the way you are!”

Operation Beautiful has been featured on the Oprah Winfrey Network and the Today show. Boyle also authored the book “Operation Beautiful: One Note at a Time.”

If you wish to join the mission, send an e-mail to [email protected] with a photograph of your Operation Beautiful note or a description of your experience.

The event is free to the public.
