Study spots on campus

Saige Heyer

Finding the right study spot can take a little bit of time while you figure out what your perfect study conditions are. Here are a few ideas to get you started.

Central Campus

If you want to sprawl out on the lawn and read your textbook, this would be the best place to go. You can choose to lay out in the sun or in the shade under a tree. Stop by the Hub to grab a drink on your way to your study spot.

Lagomarcino courtyard

The courtyard at Lagomarcino Hall provides a beautiful place to study. You can sit in the grass or on one of the benches. If you need a study break, grab a snack at the cafe.

Parks Library

Parks Library is a nice, quiet place to study. The many resources at the library make it convenient to study for any test. The library also has a cafe to help curb your hunger or thirst.

Reiman Gardens

Admission to Reiman Gardens is free to ISU students when they show their student ID. There are both indoor and outdoor places to study here. Take a break from studying and walk through the butterfly house.

Residence hall dens

If your schedule doesn’t allow you to venture too far from home, try checking out your floor’s den. This may not be as quiet as other places, but it makes it easy to hold a study group with your floor mates.

Memorial Union

One of the more popular places to study on campus is the food court at the Memorial Union. Here, students can study while grabbing a bite to eat. If you need a study break, you can check out the Underground and play a few games, but make sure you don’t lose track of time.

Other popular areas for studying in the Memorial Union include the browsing library and computer lab, the Maintenance Shop, the West Lounge, the Main Lounge and the Multicultural Center.

College of Design

If you’re on the west side of campus, the atrium in the College of Design provides lots of space to spread out and work on group projects. They have multiple round tables and a computer kiosk. Across from the kiosk is the Design Cafe.
