The ISU men’s cross country is ranked No. 26 in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association preseason national poll.

This season will be the first year the men’s team begins the season in the top 30 since 2010. It is one of four Big 12 schools to be ranked inside the top 30.

The Cyclones return four of their top seven runners from last year’s squad. They also return with three Footlocker High School All-Americans in Dan Curtis, Josef Andrews and Toby Hardwick.

The team will also have transfer Brian Biekert from Central Connecticut State, who will contend for a varsity spot on the team.

The Cyclones open their 2014 season Aug. 29 when they travel to Des Moines to compete in the Bulldog 4k Classic.
