Ames Fourth of July celebration

Ames ushered in its 150 birthday, thousands of people come to the downtown on Friday to watch the parade and to celebrate the Ames sesquicentennial celebration and Independence Day on July 4, 2014.

Thousands headed down to Main Street in Ames on July 4 and 5 for the annual Fourth of July parade and this year’s sesquicentennial celebration. The celebration included a parade, food vendors, free entertainment, a beer garden and events for children and families.
