The NCAA announced Wednesday, Dec. 11, that Iowa State will be one of six regional sites for the 2015 NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Tournament.

Iowa State, Oklahoma and West Virginia are the three Big 12 schools selected to host a regional tournament in 2015.

The three other regional host schools will be California-Berkeley, Auburn and Ohio State, with Texas Women’s University slated to host the National Championships.

A total of 36 teams advance to regionals after the regular season and conference championships are finished. Six teams compete at each regional site and the top two advance to the National Championship.

Last time Iowa State hosted an NCAA regional final was after the 2005-06 season. That year, the Cyclones placed second at regionals and went on to earn second place at the National Championships and advanced to their first-ever Super Six.
