Iowa State (3-1-1, 0-1 Big 12) dropped its first meet of the season to conference opponent Texas Christian (2-2, 2-0 Big 12).

After leading through the first five events, Texas Christian stormed back and took the lead briefly. Through seven events, the two teams were in a deadlock at 65.5.

The Cyclones kept it close for a while after that, before the Horned Frogs managed to pull away down the stretch.

The final meet score was 160.5 to 139.5 in favor of Texas Christian.

Karyl Clarete won both the 500 and 1000 freestyle races on the night. Amanda Paulson won both the 50 and 100 freestyle races.

Elyse Brouillette had a huge night on the diving boards, setting the second best mark in school history on the 3-meter diving board.

Iowa State’s next action will be at the Kansas Invitational on Nov. 22.
