After stringing together a pair of Big 12 victories, Iowa State fell short on the road to TCU, losing 61-58 on Saturday, March 2.

The Cyclones (20-7, 11-6 Big 12) got off to an early lead, but the Horned Frogs (9-19, 2-15 Big 12) were able to mount a run at the end of the first half, giving them a 33-28 lead at the break.

Iowa State was scoreless for the final 4 1/2 minutes of the first half, giving TCU the edge at halftime.

Unable to complete the comeback, the Cyclones lost their fifth road game of the season.

While Iowa State’s tournament bid hopes look to be intact, the road defeat comes against the worst team in the Big 12. The Horned Frogs’ only other conference victory came against Oklahoma State.

The Cyclones will play Monday, March 4, in the regular season finale against Oklahoma State in Ames.
