Cyclones route Horned Frogs in conference showdown

The Lowdown

After falling to No. 1 Baylor on Wednesday night, the Cyclones (12-2, 3-1 Big 12) were able to bounce back at home a claim their third conference victory against the Horned Frogs (7-8, 0-4 Big 12), winning 68-52.

At halftime, the score sat in the Cyclones’ favor, 29-24. After a deadlocked first half, the Cyclones came alive and outscored the Horned Frogs 39-28 in the second half.

The X-Factor

Chelsea Poppens — With 24 points, 15 rebounds and a double-double in the first half alone, Poppens helped the Cyclones to a perfect home-conference record. Hallie Christofferson checked out with 14 points as the Cyclones secondary scorer.

Turning Point

After a sluggish start, the Cyclones continued a 19-4 run through the second half that dated back to six minutes to play in the first half.
