The ISU softball team unveiled its 56-game spring schedule for the 2013 season, according to a news release.

Of those 56 teams, five participated in the 2012 College World Series, while 14 were present in last year’s NCAA tournament and eight having never faced Iowa State before.

Iowa State will travel to three different time zones in its nonconference schedule — facing Oregon and California (Pacific time), Minnesota (Central time) and South Florida and reigning champion Alabama (Eastern time).

Its three-game series in conference play will feature road tests against Baylor, Oklahoma State, Texas and Oklahoma. At home, Iowa State will face Texas Tech and Kansas in conference play.
