With newly-set school records and an impressive resume built for the professional tour, now-graduated Iowa State golfer Nate McCoy earned yet another national honor earlier this week.

McCoy clinched an honorable mention All-American honor by both Golfweek and the Golf Coaches Association of America. McCoy ended his senior season ranked No. 42 in the nation by Golfweek.

The All-American honor comes with a Ping All-Central Region selection, an All-Big 12 first-team pick, as well as being named Iowa State’s Male Athlete of the Year.

McCoy helped punch the Cyclone’s first post-season appearance since 1999 and first NCAA Championship appearance since 1980 when he qualified as an individual. McCoy finished 29th at the national competition.

McCoy broke multiple school records while at Iowa State, including his 54-hole record with a 202 at the Hawkeye Invitational.

McCoy punched his Canadian Tour card in May and headed to the tour for his first stop on June 7 where he finished tied for 59th. His next stop on the professional tour will be the ATB Financial Classic in Edmonton, Albeta, this weekend.
