Ames’ Furman Aquatic Center set to open Saturday, May 26

Ames’ Furman Aquatic Center is scheduled to open May 26.

The pool, located at 1635 13th St., charges $4.50 daily admission for ISU students. For adults age 16 to 61, who are not Iowa State students but residents of Ames, the daily admission rate is $5. For adults who are neither residents of Ames nor Iowa State students, the daily admission rate is $6.

ISU students can purchase a season pass for $80.

The Furman Aquatic Center offers a 550 foot lazy river with a waterfall, two waterslides, both over 200 feet in length. The 50-meter pool has a 150-foot drop slide, basketball hoops, floatables, 3-meter platform and a 1-meter spring board. The recreational pool the aquatic center offers has spray features, a large play structure, a toddler slide, children’s slide and a zero depth entry. 

All the features are open daily from 1 to 8 p.m.

On Mondays and Wednesdays, the deep end will be closed from 7 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesdays and Thursdays it will be closed from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. for Aqua Aerobics Classes.

Children 6 years and under must be actively supervised by an adult at all times. Children ages 7 to 9 must be accompanied by an adult.
