Album Review: Rebelution’s ‘Peace of Mind’

Rebelution

Gretchen Baer

For all you Reggae lovers, Rebelution is back with great vibes. “Peace of Mind” is the fourth studio album that the Santa Barbara natives have released. Ever since the band formed in 2004, Rebelution has been bringing positive reggae vibes to all listeners. Fans of bands such as Slightly Stoopid, Iration, and Tribal Seeds, will definitely want to own Rebelution’s “Peace of Mind”.

Along with the expected upbeat tracks featured on “Peace of Mind”, a few acoustic versions are included. While tracks such as, “Sky Is the Limit” and “Comfort Zone” keep you moving, “Route Around” and “Closer I Get (feat. John Popper)” provide a more relaxing sound. This album provides tracks with positive thoughts which really represents the band as a whole. In the song, “Sky Is the Limit”, Rebelution states, “There’s nothing like a clear peace of mind, to overcome the hardships in life”.

“Peace of Mind” is a great Reggae album to own. Even though Reggae is more appropriate for the summer, it’s still a great way to relax and put listeners in a great mood. “Peace of Mind” could be the perfect playlist for spring break. Rebelution just began their “Peace of Mind” tour and will be performing at People’s Court in Des Moines, IA on March 21, 2012. Be sure to check them out!
