Daily addresses concerns regarding office space
March 25, 2011
The Iowa State Daily has had an ongoing conversation with ISU Vice President for Business and Finance Warren Madden for a number of years regarding its office space. We are a growing organization, and in the last few years, it has become clear that we will outgrow our current location. We continue to search for potential relocation options, both on and off the ISU campus.
The most recent Iowa State Daily Publication Board meeting was Feb. 22. Warren Madden attended this meeting and discussed potential relocation options for the Daily. The Daily’s editor in chief, general manager and editorial adviser are all ex officio members of the Publication Board, and were present at the meeting.
If the university were to purchase office space in Campustown, it would have the option to lease the space to campus organizations and other ISU-affiliated entities. The Daily would, in that situation, be a possible candidate to rent this space from the university, as would other ISU-affiliated organizations. However, as LANE4 and the university are still in planning stages, nothing regarding this option has been determined at this point.
If you have additional questions about the Daily’s current or potential office space, we encourage you to contact Warren Madden. If you would like a copy of the official minutes from the Feb. 22 Publication Board meeting, these minutes will be approved at the March 29 Publication Board meeting, and we would be happy to provide a copy once the minutes have been approved.
If you have further questions, you are welcome to contact the Daily via our online comments, a letter to the editor sent to [email protected] or an email to [email protected].
