Danielle Adams – TAMU – Sr. – 23.3 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 50.7% FG

Brittany Spears – CU – Sr. – 18.0 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 81.1% FT

Big 12 Second Team:

Carolyn Davis-KU-So. – 18.4 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 66.4% FG

Jalana Childs-KSU-Jr. – 13.6 ppg, 4.3 rpg

Toni Young-OSU-So. – 15.1 ppg, 8.7 rpg, 1.76 spg

Sydney Colson-TAMU-Sr. – 7.5 ppg, 6.3 apg, 2.3 spg

Player of the Year:

Danielle Adams – Forward/Center, Texas A&M

The conference’s leading scorer at 23.3 points per game, Adams played her first entire season in the starting lineup as she led the Aggies to a 25-4 record and No. 2 seed in the Big 12 Tournament. Playing 30.1 minutes per game, Adams also led A&M in rebounds, field goal percentage and blocked shots.

Most Improved Player:

Tyra White – Guard, Texas A&M

After missing her entire freshman season due to injury back in 2007-2008, White finally had her breakout season as she finished the season second on the team in scoring and third in rebounding for No. 8 Texas A&M. An All-Big 12 first-team selection, White poured in a career-high 29 points in a 67-58 loss to top-ranked Baylor on Feb. 14.

Coach of the Year:

Kim Mulkey – Baylor

Mulkey led the Bears to a 28-2 record this season and a seven-week stint at the No. 1 spot in the country from Jan. 3-Feb. 14. Mulkey, the Big 12 Coach of the Year in 2005, takes her No. 1-seeded Bears into the Big 12 conference tournament in search of the program’s third Big 12 conference tournament title.

Newcomer of the Year:

Odyssey Sims – Guard, Baylor

The preseason Big 12 freshman of the year proved throughout the season why she was the top-ranked point guard in the Class of 2010. The Irving, Tex. native led the league in three-point field goal percentage at 44.9 percent and turned in the second-largest scoring effort of the Big 12 season with 37 points in a 82-81 win at No. 16 Oklahoma.
