Fitness Challenge: Matt Wettengel, introduction
January 25, 2011
Matt Wettengel, News Editor:
I’m currently on the low-end of the health spectrum. I think about going to the gym more than I actually go and eat whatever sounds good rather than what I know would be better for me. I also don’t have any sort of a regular eating pattern, I just eat when I have time and am hungry.
My goal is to exercise at least three times a week and start eating health consciously and more consistently.
Some of the challenges that I will face will be the fact that I don’t have any sort of eating pattern, I currently just eat when I’m hungry. I also never eat breakfast, which is the most important meal of the day. I have a tendency to visit Vend-o-land in Hamilton Hall between classes or when I’m working to tide me over, which is usually unhealthy and needs to happen a lot less than it currently does and I also like to get my money’s worth when I use my meal plans. Like I previously said, I am also notorious for finding excuses not to go to the gym.
I’m going to achieve my goal by actually going to the gym three times a week (at least) and possibly starting to attend a group fitness class offered through Rec. Services. I’m also going to try to get three meals in every day, while eating less, healthier food at each meal.
