Applied Machine Learning Lecture PV

Former Vice President at Google, Brian McClendon, will speak about the future of machine learning and how it relates to the business sector on Friday afternoon.

McClendon’s lecture, “Anecdotes in Applied Machine Learning,” will be at 4 p.m. on Friday in the Alliant Energy-Lee Liu Auditorium. 

According to the Lecture’s Program website, McClendon led Google’s Geo Business unit which includes programs such as Google earth, Street View and Google Maps.

McClendon is a research professor at the University of Kansas, where he also graduated from with a degree in electrical engineering.

Additionally, he worked on maps and business platforms at Uber for two years, according to the Lecture’s Program website.

In 2015, McClendon was inducted into the  National Academy of Engineering.

McClendon’s lecture is cosponsored by the Papa John Center for Entrepreneurship, the Student Innovation Center and the Committee on Lectures, which is funded by Student Government. His lecture is also a part of the ISU Innovation Weekend.
