Four men attempt armed robbery at Ames Wendy’s
September 27, 2010
Early Monday morning, four armed men robbed the Wendy’s on West Lincoln Way.
Four men, dressed in dark clothing with bandanas and wearing sunglasses, entered the back door of the Wendy’s restaurant at about midnight and forced the employees on the floor.
The suspects were armed with a dark-colored automatic pistol and a silver-colored revolver, said Cmdr. Mike Brennan of the Ames Police Department.
During the robbery, one of the suspects sprayed one of the employees with mace. The employee responded by pulling a pocket knife and attempted to stab the suspect.
The suspects then fled the store with an undetermined amount of cash.
None of the employees were injured during this incident.
