The city of Ames has scheduled a water main shutdown and water valve replacement Thursday on 18th Street.

Drivers will be unable to access 18th Street from Grand Avenue or enter Grand Avenue from 18th Street.

The project is expected to take less than six hours to complete, and water will be off for 18th Street area customers from 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Beginning at 7:30 a.m., 18th Street will be closed from Grand Avenue to Wilson Avenue, with limited access from Wilson Avenue.
