Mediacom adds six networks to high definition
May 24, 2010
Mediacom has announced that six Family Cable networks will now be in high definition.
Comedy Central and Nickelodeon will be in HD, “and four others — all located between 870 and 877 and included at no extra cost to Family Cable subscribers equipped for HDTV,” according to a news release.
Also Ames School District, channel 7, will become digital channel 85 and the Public Access channel 16 will become digital channel 84.
“We have seen that consumers’ appetite for high-definition television continues to grow. So, to maximize the consumer investments in HDTVs, we are regularly increasing the number of HD channels automatically included in Mediacom’s Free HD Family Cable,” said Mediacom Regional Vice President Steve Purcell. “The six HD channels coming to the Ames area next week are in addition to six other popular channels added to HD Family Cable in March.”
