Dendy to transfer, Oliver not returning to Cyclones

Just four days after the Cyclones landed transfer guard Darion Anderson from Northern Illinois, two ISU players declared their intentions to leave the team.

Senior power forward LaRon Dendy announced his intentions Tuesday to transfer for his senior year.

“LaRon and I met yesterday, and he informed me of his intentions to transfer to another school,” said coach Fred Hoiberg in a news release. “He explained to me this was something he has been considering for quite some time. We will do everything we can to help LaRon in his future goals.”

Dendy was not the only player that decided to not return for Hoiberg’s inaugural season. Redshirt freshman Antwon Oliver will not return either.

Dendy and Oliver are just two more players in what seems like an ongoing list of players and personnel leaving Iowa State. This season alone, the Cyclones have lost 10 players for various reasons. These reasons include, but are not limited to, graduation, transferring and injuries.
