Palin derides Obama economic plan in Dubuque stop

DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) — Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin told a crowd in Dubuque that Democrat Barack Obama’s economic plans are “phony” proposals that will destroy American jobs.

Palin told a noisy crowd of about 5,000 people that voters are getting a closer look at Obama’s economic plan and don’t like what they see. She pointed to what she called an independent analysis of the plan that indicated it would cost 6 million jobs.

The Alaskan governor also hit Obama for comments he made to a San Francisco newspaper earlier this year that she says shows he is opposed to coal-fired power plants.

Palin’s visit to Dubuque was the third of six events scheduled for Monday. It was her third stop in Iowa in the last two weeks.
