Campustown bar reopens its doors after three weeks

A Campustown bar has reopened its doors after aesthetic improvements were made.

“It wasn’t a huge renovation,” said Pio Rivera, MoJazz manager.

MoJazz, 2520 Lincoln Way, was closed for three weeks. Rivera said changes were made to the front bar only, and the rest of the bar remains the same.

Rivera said he hopes the renovations will bring more students to the bar.

He said the renovations had nothing to do with a Sept. 12, 2003 fire code violation.

“We needed to look better,” Rivera said.

Rivera was unsure how much money was spent on the improvements.

Rivera said there is a security camera installed inside of the bar.

“It’s inside by the door so everybody can see it,” he said. “We have it on the inside so people don’t tear it down. It’s common sense.”
