Intern needed

Daily Staff Writer

Applications for a half-time administrative internship in the Provost’s Office for the 1997-98 academic year are due Thursday.

The intern will provide staff support for the Council on International Programs’ efforts to expand international opportunities for students, faculty and staff.

Edwin Lewis, associate provost, said they want to hire a tenured faculty member who has some experience with international activities.

He said the intern will “work on, with and for the Council on International Programs.”

The intern will work with developing programs and projects related to international activities with college representatives, Lewis said. He or she will also help communicate international-related opportunities through a newsletter and work on finding funding sources.

Applications must include a resume, references and a statement of interest. Lewis said applications will be reviewed by the Council and a sub-committee will probably conduct interviews with finalists.

They will select one half-time intern, Lewis said. He said they should make their decision by the end of April.
