AMES – Iowa State secured former Arizona guard Jada Williams from the transfer portal Wednesday, marking the first time the Cyclones have had two McDonald’s All-Americans on the same team.
After two years with Arizona as the team’s star point guard, Williams hit the portal at the end of March and prospected Iowa State, Iowa, Baylor, TCU and others before committing as a Cyclone.
The 5-foot 8-inch former five-star recruit joins Iowa State’s roster with a career average of 11 points per game, 2.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and shooting 36% from the floor.
Williams ended her sophomore season as a Wildcat with 382 points and shot 37% from the floor, 86% from the free-throw line and averaged 12.7 points per game to contribute to her overall total of 706 points in her past two seasons.
The previous No. 21 prospect in the 2023 recruiting class will be filling in for senior guard Emily Ryan, who will graduate after playing five years as a Cyclone.
Williams will play alongside returning star players, including sophomore center Audi Crooks and sophomore forward Addy Brown, in the 2025-26 season. Williams completes the current roster, as of now, with junior guard Lily Hansford entering the portal.
