Iowa State volleyball has had a busy three-week recruiting period, bringing in four future Cyclones for the 2028 season.
Cyclone volleyball saw a successful season last year, finishing with a 23-8 record, and a 9-2 record at home, along with some big upsets, most notably versus No. 6 Arizona State.
Iowa State will look to carry this success for years to come, and they are investing in these incoming recruits who hope to do the same.
Tristyn Ervin
Ervin was the first announced commit for the Cyclones for the class of 2028. Ervin is a setter from Seattle, Washington and hopes to bring a big impact for the Cyclones in two years.
Ervin focuses on playing for her school for volleyball, and also focuses on club volleyball. She is entering her junior year at Bellevue High School and also plays for the North Pacific Juniors Volleyball Club.
North Pacific Juniors Volleyball Club is one of the best-performing clubs in the Pacific Northwest, ranking in the top 50 nationwide in 2024.
Ervin credits her family for why she was able to commit to Iowa State.
“None of this would be possible without my amazing family,” Ervin said on Instagram.
Tatyanah Linnen
The Cyclones were looking for a middle blocker and right-side hitter for the future, and have found it in Linnen.
The 6-foot-3 Wahoo, Nebraska native had 66 blocks and 297 kills on her sophomore campaign for the Omaha Roadrunners, a club team in Nebraska. Linnen also plays for the Nebraska Elite Volleyball club.
Linnen is set to come in and looks to make an immediate impact in Ames in 2028.
Payton Osegueda
The third commit for the Cyclones is another outside hitter to pair with Linnen: Osegueda. Osegueda will be a junior at Park Hill High School in Kansas City, Missouri, in the fall.
Osegueda helped lead Park Hill to a 19-5 record last season, producing 256 kills (3.3 per set) over 78 sets played in her sophomore season.
Osegueda has had a busy summer playing up a grade with Club North Volleyball out of Kansas City and is participating in the Girls Junior National Championship.
Jeorgia Evans
Evans was the most recent verbal commit to Iowa State. She attends Mid-Prairie High School in Wellman, Iowa. Evans led her team in digs with 579 as only a sophomore, and also had 213 kills in 105 sets played.
Evans also plays for a competitive volleyball club, Iowa United, out of Iowa City, Iowa.
Evans looks to bring the versatility needed to Iowa State in two years as an outside hitter and libero. With plenty of time to develop like the other recruits, she could become very good by the time she comes to Iowa State. Evans credits her support system for her commitment to Cyclone Volleyball.
“I am so thankful for such amazing people to be on this journey with me,” Evans said via Instagram.
