Police arrest suspect in Kum & Go armed robbery

Ames police made an arrest early Tuesday morning shortly after receiving a report of an armed robbery at the Kum and Go at 111 Duff Avenue, according to a press release.

The suspect, Malcolm G. Canada, 26, of Ames, was charged with robbery in the first degree, felon in possession of a firearm, theft in the fourth degree, possession of drug paraphernalia and interference with official acts.

Police responded to the report at 2:17 a.m. Tuesday and made the arrest at 4:06 a.m.
