Iowa State beats Oklahoma in sweep

During a road trip to Oklahoma, Iowa State was able to beat the Sooners in straight sets.

With the win, Iowa State’s record sits at 14-13 overall and 7-7 in the Big 12.

In Iowa State’s first game against Oklahoma, the Cyclones lost 3-1 at home.

In Wednesday’s game, Iowa State took the first set 25-22.

To take a 2-0 lead, Iowa State won the second set 25-20. During the third and final set, Iowa State won 25-22.

On the attack, the Cyclones were led by Jess Schaben, who had 18 kills. Schaben had a .286 hitting percentage.

For a double-double, Schaben also added 11 digs.

The only other Cyclone with double digit kills was Eleanor Holthaus.

Holthaus was out in Iowa State’s last game versus West Virginia, but against the Sooners she had 13 kills with a .650 hitting percentage.

Defensively, Iowa State had eight team blocks through three sets. Middle blocker Candelaria Herrera had the most block assists on Iowa State with five. Iowa State held Oklahoma to a .191 hitting percentage.

After their game against Oklahoma, Iowa State has two games remaining on the regular season schedule with home games against Kansas and then Texas Tech.
