Preview: the women’s tennis team looks to finish the month of October with another good performance heading into the ITA regionals.

The Cyclones’ are heading to Iowa City for the ITA Regional. The last time the team was on the tennis court after having other good performances two weekends ago, they all played very well for the Cyclones’. At the June Stewart Invitational, Iowa States’ Chie Kezuka and Christin Hsieh beat Vanderbilt’s Dasha Kourkina and Amy Stevens in one set 6-4. In their Singles’ action, you also were highlighted by Sofia Cabezas’s three-set victory over Carla Girbau of Kentucky Wildcats. Cabezas took the match in three sets, 7-6, 4-6, 6-3. On their final day of action at the June Stewart, Invitational Iowa State went 2-2 in their effort overall. The team went 6-2 as a team. Heading into regionals matches, there will be 65 or more talented tennis players that are going to be at the ITA Regional in Iowa City. The tennis team should be ready for that formidable challenge. In the signals and doubles matches, the players will be competing in the regionals.

The regional in Iowa City will start Thursday, October 21, and finish up the following Monday, October 25.
