Hunter Dekkers prepares for a snap against West Virginia on Nov. 5

Before the season, I had this game being Iowa State’s big upset. I have restated on the Sports Weekly Podcast a couple of times that I think the Cyclones will get the upset.

Now, with the uncertainty of Cowboy quarterback Spencer Sanders, it would be wrong to change my prediction.

Oklahoma State is limping into this game, while Iowa State is coming off of its most complete performance of Big 12 play. These two teams have had some instant classics over the past few years, and I think we will get another one.

Give me the Cyclones in a tightly contested battle.

Alright, here we are in week 11 of college football, and I’ve decided I’m going to keep riding with Iowa State for the rest of the season.

The Cyclones just got their first Big 12 win, and I think they are going to bring that momentum and confidence to Stillwater. Now that they’ve got a win under their belt, I think it’s only up from here.

Additionally, although the Cowboys are in the middle of the pack in the Big 12 rankings, they’ve lost two games in a row, with one being a 43-0 blowout against Kansas State.

I think the Iowa State defense will keep the scoring low, and the offense will use their energy from the recent win to show up and show out.

Oklahoma State is undefeated at home this season, but I believe that this week may just be the week where that streak ends.

It does seem as though I have the power to pick wrong every week; if I pick the Cyclones to win, they lose, and vice versa. So I’m going to throw the Cyclones a bone this week and pick against them yet again.

Who knows, maybe they’ll come out with an upset win just to spite me.

I really did think the season was over going into the West Virginia game, but the Cyclones showed a spark on offense that could give them life for the rest of the season.

With bowl-game hopes still alive, Iowa State just needs to win one more game to have a chance to extend its season. However, I don’t think the win is coming this weekend.

Oklahoma State seems to be struggling, winning just one of its last four games, but that’s nothing compared to Iowa State’s 1-5 Big 12 record. I know the Cyclones are coming off a win, but the Cowboys have been playing well at home this season, which could give Iowa State some trouble.

It will end up being a competitive game, but Iowa State’s offense will stall at times, causing Oklahoma State to come out on top.
