BREAKING: Pedestrian struck and killed by train

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a train Thursday afternoon at a railroad crossing on North Dakota Avenue.
The Ames Police Department responded to the accident at 3:14 p.m. after witnesses reported that a person had been struck by the train. Officers found the person dead when they arrived at the scene.
The identity of the victim will be withheld pending notification of the family.
Police blocked access to Reliable Street as well as the railroad crossing, as of 5:30 p.m.
The Iowa State Daily reached out to the Ames Police and Fire Departments; neither were immediately available to comment.

May I know the exact details of the incident ? The deceased is my friend and I, along with many of his friends in India are unaware of the exact details. We are very concerned.
