BREAKING: Shooting investigated by Ames Police

The Ames Police Department responded to a shooting report around 9 p.m. on Sept. 21 in the 3800 block of Tripp Street. The current status is unknown of a male victim, who is being treated at a local hospital.

This is the second shooting to occur in the 3800 block of Tripp Street in less than one month. The Ames Police Department reported that this is an isolated incident, and they believe there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The press release offered information for the public, “Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Ames Police Department at (515) 239-5133 or the anonymous tip line (515) 239-5533. You may also contact Crime Stoppers of Central Iowa at (515) 223-1400. Online anonymous tips may be submitted to www.crimestoppersofcentraliowa.com.”
