According to the unofficial 2025 Ames City and School election results, 10,289 ballots were cast, representing 15.85% of the eligible voters.
The election results were made available on the Iowa Secretary of State’s website at 10 p.m. Tuesday.
Mayor John Haila was reelected to his respective office, receiving just over 5,000 votes. Council members Bronwyn Beatty-Hansen, Gloria Betcher and Amber Corrieri were also re-elected.
Mary Kitchell and Beth Swenson were selected for the city hospital trustees.
For the Ames school director at-large, voters had the option to select three candidates: Arthur Baumgartner, Jennifer Tipton and Kelly Winfrey.
Baumgartner received 3,723 votes, Tipton received 3,732 and Winfrey received 3,756.
Aaron Rodriguez was the sole candidate for Ames school director at-large and received 4,011 votes.
Voters had the option to choose yes or no to public measure B, which asked whether to enter into a loan agreement and issue general obligation bonds of up to $10,500,000 to construct, furnish, and equip a new fire station to replace Fire Station No. 2.
The public measure received 86.70% of the votes in favor, with 782 votes against.
