Cyclone softball adds new transfer pitcher
July 11, 2018
A new pitcher will be on Iowa State softball’s roster next season, as the Cyclones attempt to offset the loss of graduating senior and star pitcher Brianna Weilbacher.
Iowa State announced Wednesday that Marshall pitcher Tatum Ksiazek has transferred to the Cyclones.
Ksiazek is a native of Bondurant, Iowa, and she will be a sophomore during the 2018-19 season. In her one year with the Thundering Herd, Ksiazek went 1-0 in eight appearances, starting one game and pitching a total of 13.1 innings.
Ksiazek won a state championship with Bondurant-Farrar High School in 2013.
“We’re excited about adding Tatum,” head coach Jamie Pinkerton said in a press release. “She’s a player that we’re looking to come in and provide valuable depth to our pitching staff.”
