This is a violation tracker for the current Iowa State University Student Government election cycle, focusing on the Kelly Rose campaign. This article will be updated as new information or violations are posted on the general election website.
Additional violations have been filed against Josie Kelly, a senior majoring in agricultural and rural policy studies, and Henry Rose, a senior majoring in agricultural studies, who are running for StuGov president and vice president.
New violations
The most recent violation, 26-20, cites section 7.1 of the Election Code, requiring endorsements to be filed with and approved by the Election Commissioner before being claimed. The status is that there will be a hearing at 7 p.m Sunday.

Including the newest filings, the Kelly Rose campaign has been accused of 12 individual alleged violations across seven cases this election cycle. Of those, two have resulted in a “violation found” ruling, three were dismissed or found no violation and the remainder are currently filed or under investigation. No major violations have been found against the campaign as of publication.
In a statement given to the Iowa State Daily following the new violations, the Kelly Rose campaign responded:
“The Kelly-Rose campaign has remained committed to operating in full compliance with the Election Code and in close communication with the Election Commission throughout this process,” the Kelly Rose campaign stated. “In this instance, there was a miscommunication regarding the endorsement filing procedure. Once it was brought to our attention, we worked promptly to address it and ensure alignment with the Commission’s expectations. Our campaign continues to prioritize transparency, good faith and adherence to the rules.”
