One of Iowa State men’s basketball’s incoming recruits will be training with USA Basketball’s Men’s U18 team this summer, it was announced on Monday.

Talen Horton-Tucker, the Cyclones’ highest-rated incoming freshman by 247Sports (No. 53 in the country), has been invited to attend the camp, which will take place from May 31 to June 2 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

He will then have a chance to earn his way onto the final roster for the 2018 FIBA Americas U18 Championship, which takes place in St. Catharines, Canada, from June 10 to June 16. Kansas head coach Bill Self will be leading Team USA this summer.

Iowa State head coach Steve Prohm said that this was “a great opportunity for Talen, his family and our program.”

“He’ll have the opportunity to perform against great competition while representing our country, which is a terrific honor,” Prohm added.
