Iowa State men’s golf kicks off play in home state

With one round down at the Hawkeye Invitational, the Cyclones are off to a promising start. Iowa State finished the day in first place scoring a 280, good for eight strokes under par in Iowa City, Iowa.

Kansas State is closest behind scoring a 282 with six strokes under par. Iowa, trails Kansas State by three strokes and has scored a 285.

Denzel Ieremia shot a 67 on a 72 par course. Ieremia leads Iowa State for second place on the individual leaderboard.

Lachlan Barker shot two strokes under par in the first round. Barker scored a 70 and is currently tied with six others for fifth. Shortly behind Barker is Tripp Kinney who shot a 71 and is tied for 12th place with four others.

Play will continue tomorrow and round two will begin in the morning and round three will begin shortly after.
