Cyclones finish even 1-1 in final day in Nebraska

Redshirt sophomore Liera Bender played for Iowa State Tennis on April 23. Bender fell 0-6 during her match against Sofia Blanco of OSU. They fell 0-4 against Oklahoma.

Iowa State defeats Omaha 4-3 to end the road trip in Lincoln, Nebraska.

The Cyclones captured two wins in doubles. Many Cancini and Regina Espindola played a hard fought match against Michelle Lo and Janelle Wilson, 7-6 in a tiebreak. 

Erin Freeman and Anabella Bonadonna dominated their match against Savana Crowell and Natalie Lorentz 6-1.

The Cyclones grabbed three wins in singles, Espindola defeated Lo, 7-5, 6-1. Timakova defeated Karelevich 7-6, 7-5. Bonadonna played a close game with Lorentz but was able to pull out a win, 6-4, 6-1. Repina fell just shy of a win against Wilson being defeated 5-7, 6-3, and finishing with a 10-8 tiebreak.

Singles:

No. 1: Regina Espindola defeated Michelle Lo (UNO) 7-5, 6-1.

No. 2: Ekaterina Retina was defeated by Janelle Wilson (UNO) 5-7,6-3,10-8.

No. 3: Margarita Timakova defeated Marie Karelevich (UNO) 7-6, 7-5.

No. 4: Anabella Bonadonna defeated Natalie Lorentz (UNO) 6-4,6-1.

No. 5: Karen Alvarez was defeated by Emily Behling (UNO) 6-1,6-2.

Doubles:

No. 1: Cancini/Espindola defeated Lo/Wilson (UNO) 7-6

No. 2: Freeman/Bonadonna defeated Crowell/Lorentz (UNO) 6-1.

No. 3: Repina/Timakova were defeated by Karelevich/Behling (UNO) 7-5.

The Iowa State Cyclones will travel to Florida to face against the North Florida Ospreys on March 2 and will face the Mercer Bears the following day.
