Iowa State Recreation Services announced via Twitter Friday morning that the Lied Recreation center is without heat or hot water.

Rec Services clarified that the issue is being looked into, but offered no timetable for a fix. Temperatures in Ames have been sub-zero for much of Friday morning with feels like temperatures as low as 25 degrees below zero.

This isn’t the first time this winter that Lied has had outages of heating. Just two days ago Rec Services tweeted a message similar to today’s:

Students seeking a warm workout can visit State Gym on the east side of campus until the issues have been resolved.
