Iowa State blinked and it was facing a 17-6 deficit against No. 24 TCU just six minutes into the game. The Cyclones blinked again and they were down 47-35 at halftime.

That early lead for TCU (14-4, 2-4 Big 12) helped them sustain the lead over Iowa State (10-7, 1-5 Big 12) throughout the second half and end with a 96-73 win in Fort Worth, Texas.

TCU had the hot hand to start the game and continued it throughout the first half both near the basket and behind the arc. The Horned Frogs were led by JD Miller who had 13 points in the first half.

The Horned Frogs were missing Jaylen Fisher, who was out with a knee injury, but still shot 56.3 percent from the field. TCU also connected on seven 3-pointers and shot 46.7 percent from behind the arc.

Iowa State was the opposite and only found four opportunities from the 3-point line in the first half. Jackson led the Cyclones with 14 points.

He continued his performance in the second half with five points and a total of 19 points throughout the entire game. The Cyclones finished with a 50 percent from the floor and went 8-for-16 from the 3-point line, equaling 50 percent.

After sitting out the majority of the first half because of foul trouble, freshman guard Lindell Wigginton ended his night with 16 points and two rebounds.

Iowa State will come back to Ames this weekend to take on No. 8 Texas Tech at 1 p.m. on Saturday. The Red Raiders are 15-3 this season and 4-2 in the Big 12 with a recent loss to Texas on Wednesday.
