It was a back and forth first half in Iowa State’s second Big 12 game of the season at home against Oklahoma. At the end of two quarters, the Cyclones were down 42-34 and that lead stuck for the Sooners, resulting in a 74-69 win for Oklahoma.

Adriana Camber is known for her performances in the second half, but started to have the hot hand with a couple of 3-pointers in the first half. She only played 10 minutes because she picked up three fouls and sat most of the second half.

Bridget Carleton, who was honored before the game for making the 1,000-point club for Iowa State women’s basketball, led the team in the first half with 12 points and five rebounds.

That leadership continued as she scored nine points in the second half for a total of 21 points. Carleton also helped the Cyclones with nine rebounds and three assists.

During the third quarter, Iowa State had a scare as Bride Kennedy-Hopoate got hit in the face with some hard contact. She was down on the court for a few minutes as trainers evaluated her. She slowly got back to her feet, but was helped off the court by the trainers and taken straight back to the locker room.

Near the end of the fourth quarter, Kennedy-Hopoate came back into the game and looked to be back to normal.

The Cyclones started the Big 12 with a win at home against Kansas in overtime last Thursday night. This loss puts Iowa State at 7-6 overall and 1-1 in the Big 12.

Iowa State will continue a long stretch of games as the Cyclones travel to Waco, Texas to take on the Baylor Bears at 7 p.m. on Wednesday night. Baylor is ranked sixth in the country and is currently 12-1 overall and 2-0 in the Big 12 this season.
