  1. Identities at odd: Heather Marie Dunn is Christian, conservative and transgender. While many believe Heather can’t live all three identities openly, Heather doesn’t think she has to choose one over another and her identities don’t have to be pitted against each other.

    1. Men’s basketball: The Cyclones won over Alcorn State 78-58 on Sunday following a 94-80 win against Northern Illinois on Monday and an 84-78 win against the Iowa Hawkeyes.

    2. Women’s basketball: The Cyclones beat North Carolina Central 99-58 on Sunday following a 61-55 lost against the Iowa Hawkeyes on Wednesday.

    3. Wrestling: The Cyclones fell to Wyoming 24-24 on Saturday leaving the Cyclones 0-3 in dual meets this season.

    4. Swimming and Diving: The Cyclones fell to the Hawkeyes 172.5 to 127.5 on Friday.

    5. Hockey: Cyclones fell to Indiana Tech 7-3 on Saturday losing their sixth straight game.

    6. Track and Field: The Cyclones kicked off their season on Friday with the Cyclone Duals at Lied Recreation Center.

  3. Parkinson’s Research: Iowa State doctoral student and president of the Graduate and Professional Student Senate, Vivek Lawana, is using his past experiences with Parkinson’s Disease as motivation to find a new treatment.

Iowa State alumni help rebuild Flint: Iowa State alumni Jeff and Rhonda Grayer have been working to replace all the pipes in Flint, Michigan for the past year and won’t stop until all 18,000 have been replaced. In 2014, the Flint River became the primary source of drinking water for the citizens of Flint, Michigan. After the pipes were mishandled, 100,000 residents were exposed to high levels of lead contamination.
  5. Lanning and Montgomery named All-American: Senior linebacker Joel Lanning has received Second Team All-American honors from Sports Illustrated. Sophomore running back David Montgomery earned First Team All-American from Pro Football Focus.
