Semi-Annual Sidewalk Sales take over the streets of downtown

The Main Street Cultural District will have its Semi-Annual Sidewalk Sales Thursday, July 27 through Saturday, July 29 in downtown Ames.

Downtown Ames businesses will have sales, promotions and discounts during the sales. The sidewalk sales will begin at the same times as each store’s hours are listed.

What to expect:

The Salon is having a 40 percent-off sale on Smashbox Cosmetics.

The Loft is having their Summer Dollar Days. They will have $2 priced items, as well as many pop-up sales throughout the three day event.

American Country Home Store is having a storewide 20 percent off sale, as well as 50 percent off selected items.

Duck Worth Wearing will be having hundreds of items priced at $1.

Dashing Boutique will offer necklaces starting at $10, bracelets starting at $1, and a wide variety of earrings starting at $5.

Miss Meyer’s Consignment Shop and Worldly Goods will also be having sales during the sidewalk event.

Tres Teal will be having a sale with all items up 30 to 70 percent off.

Depot Deli & Cookie, etc. will have a RSVP-only grill out from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 27. They will be having a shrimp boil which consists of gulf shrimp, sausage, sweet corn, new potatoes with melted butter, bread and coleslaw. To RSVP for this event call 515-233-4447.

The event is expected to attract over a thousand visitors. This event encourages people to shop local and helps to promote the downtown Ames businesses.
