Jordan Mayland and The Thermal Detonators to rock Lefty’s in honor of new album
March 8, 2017
Nova Labs is presenting a showcase in honor of Jordan Mayland and The Thermal Detonators’ new album. The release party will take place at 8 p.m. on Friday at Lefty’s in Des Moines. Admission for the show is $8.
Originally, Jordan Mayland and the Thermal Detonators started out as a solo project. Now, the act has expanded into a band.
The show will be celebrating the band’s first full length release together entitled “The Mess.” According to a post on their Facebook page, Mayland described the group as different, and “not your normal Indie-Rock band.”
This album follows previous releases including “Demons & Demons,” “I Wrote it All down,” and Mayland’s original self-titled EP.
Joining in on the showcase will be rock and blues band The Other Brothers, who are also out of Des Moines. On their website, the trio describes themselves as a mix between the old and the new, all while they live out the rock persona and give their audiences something that is unique and easy to dance to.
The band came together in 2014 and since then, they have released a live album and a studio record entitled “Rosetta,” which came out last summer.
Rounding out the show will be local Ames singer songwriter, Evan Campbell for Real. Campbell also celebrated a release recently, with his self-titled EP which came out at the beginning of this year through Nova Labs.
