The Iowa State men’s golf team return to action on April 3rd -4th in the Seattle Redhawk Invitational in Seattle, Washington.

They will play in the Chambers Bay Golf Course, which hosted the 2010 U.S. Amateur and 2015 U.S. Open Championships.

The Cyclones will compete after finishing in sixth place out of 15 teams in the Arizona State Thunderbird Tournament in Tucson, Arizona. The Cyclones rallied after three rounds of golf, jumping up from the seventh position.

Iowa State will be competing with Santa Clara, No. 59 TCU, Notre Dame, No. 44 BYU, Ohio, Alabama State, Princeton, No. 66 Campbell, Loyola Marymount, De Paul, Grand Canyon University, No. 35 Northwestern, Santa Clara, Sacred Heart, Little Rock, Stetson, and Louisiana-Monroe.

This competition will bring the cloudy weather of Washington, which is expected to be in the 40s and 50s throughout both days. Weather will be something that can work against the Cyclones. Most of the tournament the Cyclones have competed in are played in a more traditionally sunny climate. Weather complications occurred the most during the General Hackler Championship in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where the final day of play was canceled due to rain, and the Virginia Commonwealth Shootout in Richmond, Virginia, where it was overcast throughout the meet.

No. 53 Iowa State is going into the final stretch of its season, this being the second to last tournament before the Big 12 Championships. Should the Cyclones win one more tournament, it will be the best record so far from head coach Andrew Tank.

The meet will kick off on Monday, and will wrap up on Tuesday. Check back with the Iowa State Daily for updated information throughout the meet.
