Asia Samson is a cancer survivor determined to share his story with the world through poetry.

Samson is accompanied by his brother-in-law Jollian, who plays guitar behind Samson’s spoken poems to create a dynamic audial experience.

“[Samson’s] performance combines inspiration and humor, while also provoking thought and self-reflection,” according to the artist’s official press release.

The Asia Project has performed with artists such as Mos Def and Jill Scott and has appeared as a TEDx speaker and on Russell Simmons’ HBO program “Def Poetry.”

Samson was named as APCA’s (Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities) “Performer of the Year” and “College Spoken Word Artist of the Year.”
